Loom Knitting Pretty Picot Flowers and Stars

Your project is done. It feels good, but sometimes you want to add just a little something extra. Now loom knitters have the option to make a loom knit flower or star embellishment in no time.

And by no time, I mean a few rounds. And by a few, I mean as little as 2 rounds of loom knitting. We’ve all got time for that!

What makes these embellishments special is the bind off. I created a picot bind off that adds a little bump out as you bind off each stitch. That little bit of texture adds loads of character to these super easy loom knit flowers and stars.

These embellishments add a special touch to hats, scarves, bags, cowls or blankets. But you can also use them alone as Christmas ornaments, gift tags, earrings or hair clips. I think they’d also be adorable as garland if you strung a bunch of them together. How fun is that?

Loom knitting pretty picot flowers and stars is easy enough for a beginner and makes a quick project for kids who are learning to loom knit.

This star makes a great ornament for my tree!

Using my trusty Knifty Knitter 12 and 24 peg looms I was able to make a 6 pointed star and the larger flower. Instructions and tutorial videos for both of these are included below.

But recently, I got a set of KB Flexee Looms and decided to play around with making a 5 pointed star. It worked beautifully on both the Flexee Chunky and Flexee Skinny Looms.

These are smaller stars, but are a great size for embellishments and decorations.

Check out the tutorials and patterns for all my beautiful stars and flowers.
