Oh, yeah! YouTube has gone craft-friendly!

I know what you’re thinking?  What do you mean YouTube has gone craft-friendly, they’ve always been craft-friendly. That’s true.  You all know I started on YouTube.  But now they have done some updates to make it better for crafty mobile users.  Let’s face it.  We all use our phones for most everything.  I film and edit my videos on my phone.  It only makes sense that you watch them on yours.

Mobile users now have more control over video quality and playback speed.  You may ask why that matters.  Well, when your hands are wrapped with yarn trying to learn the longtail cast on you just might appreciate being able to watch the video in slow motion or tap the screen to jump back 10 seconds.  Am I right?

So, what’s new?

YouTube has added some great new functionality that was only available on your desktop.  See the screenshots below to learn how to access these fantastic features on your mobile device.

See! Now you can learn all about the Stitch Along while your kids look for library books.

You can even choose how much to slow it down or speed it up. This is perfect for learning a new cast on or a difficult stitch.

You can even jump forward or backward 10 seconds by double-tapping the screen. I LOVE this one for when I need to watch something a few times.

I hope this helps you get the most out my crafting videos.   I’m excited that YouTube is giving mobile users this functionality.   How excited am I?  Excited enough to blog about it!!

Try it for yourself!
