Announcing: Loom Knit Beehive Waffle Hat! It’s Reversible!

Announcing: Loom Knit Beehive Waffle Hat! It’s Reversible!

Inside: Make the reversible loom knit Beehive Waffle hat with this free pattern including 4 sizes from Toddler to Adult, chart & tutorial videos.

A few weeks ago I published the Beehive Waffle stitch pattern for loom knitters and got a great response.

One of the most common responses I got was, “Kristen, this would make an adorable hat! Can you please turn it into a hat?”

We ALL love new stitch patterns and, hey, as loom knitters, most of us got started working on hats. So, this pattern had to happen, right?

The Beehive Waffle Hat has a delicate textured stitch pattern that will keep you cozy and stylish.  This loom knit hat features a ribbed brim, beehive waffle body and decreased crown for a great fit.  I’ve included all the tutorial videos below including for shaping the top of the hat on the Flexee Loom and on other looms.

It’s Reversible!

I love both sides of this stitch pattern so I use mine as a reversible hat.

When I first worked on the stitch pattern, I quickly noticed that the back of the stitch was totally different, but just as beautiful as the front. Anyone else, love the back of a stitch pattern too?

Now when you flip the hat, the crown changes to from stockinette to reverse stockinette. But I think that actually looks great with reverse side of the beehive waffle stitch. They go together like peanut butter and jelly so I’m calling it a win.

But can something that cute really be wrong?

Like many of my recent hat patterns I’m trying to include multiple sizes for you. I want to make it easy for you to be able to take one pattern and make hats for everyone you know.

Pattern includes written instructions for 5 hat sizes from Baby to Adult Large, chart and links to fully captioned tutorial videos.

For shaping the top of the hat detailed Flexee Loom instructions are listed first, followed by instructions for other adjustable and non-adjustable looms. (See my Ultimate Loom Knit Decreased Crown tutorial video for additional help. Ultimate Loom Knit Decreased Crown

Wednesday 15th of June 2022

I'm trying to do the ultimate decreased crown on a non adjustable loom. I'm a bit confused. After the first for of knit 4 and knit 2 together. The pattern says for row 2 knit the whole round. Do you knit the empty pegs as well or just keep skipping over them ever even row you knit all around ? I'm using u- wrap stitches and trying to make a baby hat. Thank you so much

Lovely, but I knit with sticks. Do you think this could be made on circulars and double points?
