How to Needle Knit the Reverse Edelweiss Stitch

Inside: Learn the needle knit Reverse Edelweiss stitch pattern as flat panel or in the round. Includes tutorial videos for both right and left handed knitters.

I recently made a video showing the Edelweiss stitch pattern. While I was working through the stitch pattern and converting it to work on the knitting loom I created a happy accident.

By reversing the order of a couple stitches I created a new stitch pattern!

Reverse Edelweiss Stitch Pattern

I call this the Reverse Edelweiss stitch pattern. This small, textured pattern resembles mini tulips so an alternate name is the Mini Tulip stitch . It’s also surprisingly easy to knit up!

Needle Knit Reverse Edelweiss Stitch Features:

  • Finished fabric doesn’t curl so you don’t need a border
  • The fabric is very stretchy and had a slightly open airy feel
  • Stitch pattern works both a flat panel or in the round

New to knitting? I’ve got a How to Knit for Complete Beginners Video Series to teach you ALL the basics.

Abbreviations:
