17 sts x 16.5 rows in 4” (10 cm) in linen stitch
SKILL LEVEL Easy
Lovey: 12” x 12” (30.5 cm x 30.5 cm)
Car Seat: 24″ x 30″ (60 x 75 cm)
Stroller: 30″ x 35″ (75 x 87.5 cm)
Crib: 45″ x 60″ (112.5 x 150 cm)
Throw: 60″ x 70″ (150 x 175 cm)
The linen stitch pattern is a multiple of 2+1 with a 1 row repeat.
If there is a + sign after the multiple for a stitch pattern that means there is an extra step to figure out your cast on. For example, if a stitch pattern tells you to cast on a multiple of 6+1. That means, first, you need to find a multiple of 6 that will give you the correct size project. If your gauge gives you 5 sts/in and you want about a 7″ washcloth you need the closest multiple of 6: 36 stitches. Then you need to ADD 1 more stitch to that, so your actual cast on would be 37 stitches for the project.
Chain 51 (103, 129, 193, 255).
Foundation Row: Sc into 3rd chain from the hook, *ch 1, skip 1, sc in next chain, rep from * to end of row.
Row 1: Turn, ch2, *sc into ch-1 space, ch 1, repeat from * to last stitch, sc in ch-2 space.
Repeat Row 1 until piece measures 12” (35”, 60”, 70”) or until desired length. Cut yarn, pull loop through and weave in ends.
