The Bars Potholder looks just like a mini log cabin quilt. I love potholder designs that bring the nostalgia factor, and this geometric two-color bars pattern does exactly that.

MATERIALS

Loom
⅜” potholder loom with 72 pegs.
CinDWood ⅜” Small 7” Hot Pad/Potholder Loom used in sample. This loom is available alone or bundled with a bag of loops. Use code goodknitkisses for $5 off your loom purchase.
Loops
36 cotton potholder loops (for 7” loom)
Color A: 24 loops (blue)
Color B: 12 loops (red)
Notions
Weaving tool
Crochet hook to bind off
SKILL LEVEL Easy+
MEASUREMENTS About 5.5” x 5.5” (14 x 14 cm)

NOTES
This design uses two colors on both the warp (vertical) and the the weave (horizontal).
You place all the warp loops on the potholder loom first. Then you weave the horizontal loops according to the row instructions.
In the row instructions below, directions written in parentheses ( ) are repeated. The number of times to work the repeat are listed after the parentheses.

INSTRUCTIONS
Warp:
Place loops vertically (from top to bottom) on Pegs 1-18 as follows:
Color A: Pegs 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18
Color B: Pegs 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17

Weave:
Row 1: With A, weave (over 1, under 1) rep to end of row.
Row 2: With B, weave (under 1, over 1) rep to end of row.
Row 3: Rep Row 1.
Row 4: With A, weave (under 1, over 1) rep to end of row.
Row 5: With B, weave (over 1, under 1) rep to end of row.
Row 6: Rep Row 4.
Rows 7-18: Rep Rows 1-6 twice more.
Bind off using crochet hook.
